Top 10 Players of the Week (10/21-10/27)

With the first full week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Kevin Durant Despite a loss to kick off the week, the Golden State Warriors are still killing it this season, as everyone expected them to. The Warriors went 3-1 this past week, winning all three of those games by 20 or more points and improving their record to 5-1 on the season and keeping them in the top spot of the Western Conference. Leading the way for the Warriors this past week was two players. The first of which was Kevin Durant, who continued to show why he's one of the top five players in the league this past week. For the week, Durant averaged 28.3 points, 8 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 59% from the field, 42% from three-point range, and 93% from the free throw line. Duran...

Top 10 Players of the Week (10/16-10/20)

The NBA season is upon us again, and with the first week (well, five days) of the season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time for me to give my thoughts on the best players of the week. WIth that short intro out of the way, here are the 10 best players from the past week of the NBA season. Joel Embiid Following up on a great season that ended in disappointing fashion last year, the Philidelphia 76ers are looking to rebound and potentially take the top spot in the Eastern Conference now that LeBron James has gone west. A 2-1 start through their first three games isn't perfect, but it's still a strong start, and the person they can thank the most for this continued success is their start player Joel Embiid. For the past week, Embiid averaged 28.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and two blocks per game while shooting 51% from the field and 33% from three-point range. Don't be surprised if the 76ers find their way into the Eastern Conference Finals this ye...

5 Most Shocking Moves This Offseason

With the new NBA season on the horizon, it's safe to say that we can pretty much close the book on the 2018 offseason. In a summer that saw LeBron James leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second time to head to the Los Angeles Lakers and the escalation of the Jimmy Butler drama in Minnesota, this offseason was one to remember. However, some of these moves made really came out of nowhere, and that's what I'm looking at today. Honorable mention goes to Michael Carter-Williams getting signed because...I mean, it's Michael Carter-Williams. So with that out of the way, these are the 5 most shocking moves of the 2018 offseason. Toronto Raptors Trade Away DeMar DeRozan When someone is arguably the greatest player in the history of a franchise, you'd assume that that player's spot on the roster is almost a guarantee for as long as that player wants it. That's what I imagine a lot of people thought about DeMar DeRozan. Drafted with the 9th pick in the 2009 d...

4 NBA Super Teams That Failed Miserably

To say that the NBA is dominated by super teams is about as controversial as saying that the sun is hot. It's well established at this point that in order to even compete for the NBA Championship, you're going to need at least two all-star caliber players on your roster. Sometimes they are created through the draft, such as the 2000's San Antonio Spurs and (up until 2016) the 2010's Golden State Warriors, and sometimes they are built through trades and free agency, like the Miami Heat's Big 3 or the 2008 Champions in the Boston Celtics. However, not every super team works out, and some crash and burn almost as quickly as they were formed. Whether they struggled to mesh together or a superstar or two just couldn't get along, these are four NBA super teams that failed miserably. 2017-18 Oklahoma City Thunder Starting off we have the most recent example of an NBA superteam that failed hard in the Oklahoma City Thunder from this past season. Two years prior t...
