9 Players I Thought Would Improve in the 2018-19 Season (And How They Actually Did)

As I did last year , I made a list of the players I thought would show significant improvement in the 2018-19 season . And just like last year, I'm going to take a look back at the nine players I wrote about back August of 2018. Who made noticeable improvements? Who stayed the same? Did Caleb Swanigan make me look smart after a full year of trying to hype him up? Let's find out. These are the nine players I thought would improve in the 2018-19 season, and how they really did. Dejounte Murray What I Said: "With Tony Parker out of the equation now and Patty Mills seemingly taking the backseat to Murray towards the end of the season, I'm predicting another season where Murray sees a solid increase in his stat line." What Actually Happened: I'm just going to get this one out of the way. Dejounte Murray obviously did not improve this past season, mostly because Murray didn't play this past season. Nine days before the season started and less than ...

9 Players Who Will Improve in the 2018-19 Season

It's that time of the year again. With the 2018-19 season right around the corner, it's time for me to give my predictions on which players will have big improvements throughout the year. If you wanna see the lists I made for last season, they're both right here . But with that out of the way, here are 9 players that I think will improve in the 2018-19 season. Noah Vonleh Let's be honest, this season is going to be complete hell for the New York Knicks. With their best player in Kristaps Porzingis expected to be out for the majority of the year, the team is going to have to rely on guys like Tim Hardaway Jr., Enes Kanter, and mostly young, unproven players like Kevin Knox and Frank Ntilikina. Maybe they'll shock everyone like the Indiana Pacers or the Utah Jazz did this season, but I wouldn't count on it. While they probably won't have Porzingis for the first half of the season, they will have Noah Vonleh, who I think can show some big improvements a...

13 Players I Thought Would Improve This Year (And How They Actually Did)

Before the season started, I made two lists of players that I thought would break out this season. In hindsight, I should have called it "players who would improve big time this year" because I wouldn't say anyone I picked had a truly "breakout" season. Still, I wanted to go back and see just how much the players I said would improve actually did improve (or how much they didn't). Let's get right into this, these are the 13 players I thought would improve and how they did this past season. Deyonta Davis What I Said: "Davis is very young and has a lot of potential. It would be a good idea for the Grizzlies to capitalize on it this season." What Actually Happened: For starters, Davis did receive a much larger role in his sophomore season as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, doubling his minutes per game and playing in 62 games (26 more than he did as a rookie) with six starts. With that additional playing time, Davis saw jumps in...

6 MORE Players Who Could Break Out This Year

Recently, I took a look at 7 players that I thought could have breakout years in the 2017-18 season, which you can read by clicking here . However, there are more than 7 players who I think can shine this season. So with that being said, here are 6 more players who I think could have break out years in the 2017-18 season. Jusuf Nurkić In the last post, I took a look Nerlens Noel & Willie Cauley-Stein, two players who were in bad spots, but after a change saw improvement, with Noel getting traded to another team and Cauley-Stein getting moved to the starting line-up after the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Another player like them is Jusuf Nurkić. Starting the season on the Denver Nuggets, Nurkić found himself playing back-up to Nikola Jokić. Coming off the bench, played around 18 minutes a game and averaged 8 points & 5.8 rebounds per game on 51% shooting. However, he then found himself traded to the Portland Trail Blazers for Mason Plumlee, and that was all he needed ...
