It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Point Guard: De'Aaron Fox In a season where they're looking to finally make the playoffs for the first time since 2006, the Sacramento Kings have been struggling. After going on a nine-game losing streak at the end of February, the team has traded wins-and-loses and now sit at 15-23 on the season, the third-worst in the West right now. This week was more of the same, as the team went 1-1, but if there's anything positive to take away from the last seven days, it's the excellent play of De'Aaron Fox. Point Guard: Luka Dončić After a rough patch knocked them down in the Western Conference standings, the Dallas Mavericks have managed to correct the course and are approaching a .500 winning percentage once again. After winning just two of their last nine games, the Mavericks now find themselves with lots of momentum on their side following a perfect 3-0 week, improving their record to 13-14 on the year. This week did see a huge jump by Kristaps Porziņģis, but the obvious leader is my frequent selection for the top point guard of the week; Luka Dončić. Damian Lillard Coming off one of the strongest months of his entire career, Damian Lillard has calmed down a bit, but is still performing at one of the highest levels in the entire league right now. Lillard's top-notch play has also been a huge contributing part of the Portland Trail Blazers' recent success, as they've gone 19-9 since the start of February. Following a perfect 3-0 week, the Trail Blazers have improved to a 37-26 record, the third-best record in the Western Conference. He shot below 40% from the field and averaged less than 20 points per game this week, which is the first time that has happened this season. However, the Houston Rockets still have a great player who was able to lead them to a to a 2-1 record on the week, and that player is Chris Paul for the week. For the week, Paul averaged 23.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 2 steals per game while shooting 49% from the field and 45% from three-point range. Yesterday, the NBA announced the starters for the 2018 All-Star Game and named leading vote-getters LeBron James & Stephen Curry as the team captains. With 10 all-star spots in the books, that leaves 14 spots left, 7 for each conference. Today, I'm going to give my thoughts on who I think should be the reserves. I've already done the Eastern Conference , so here are 7 players I think should make the all-star game from the Western Conference. Russell Westbrook Let's start with the obvious one. And when I say obvious, I mean blatantly obvious. The reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook has continued to put up fantastic numbers for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently sit at a 25-20 record on the year. Even with the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, Westbrook is still averaging a near triple-double on the year and has consistently been one of the best players in the league. For the season, Westbrook is averaging 24.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, a league-high 9.9...

Nikola Vucevic The Orlando Magic had a busy week this week, playing five games and going 2-3 along the way, pushing their record 11-17. With Aaron Gordon going down with a concussion midway through the week, it was Nikola Vucevic who led the way for the Magic during the week. For the week, Vucevic averaged 23.6 points, 13.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.6 blocks per game while shooting 58% from the field, 32% from three-point range, and a perfect 10/10 from the free throw line. Devin Booker With all the drama the Phoenix Suns have been surrounded in this season with one of their best players publically stating (well, tweeting) that he didn't want to be there anymore, they've still managed to avoid the bottom of the Western Conference with a 6-11 record. While they still have a long way to go before they are a playoff team, they seem to be in the right direction with Devin Booker taking the lead.
