NBA Team of the Week (4/18/21-4/24/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Luka Dončić While they're in playoff contention right now, the Dallas Mavericks have been a bit disappointing this year. Having an early MVP front runner and one of the better centers in the league, I said before the season started that the Mavericks look like they have a bright future ahead of them. However, we haven't seen that bright future just yet. They're currently 6th in the West right now and hold a playoff spot, but you'd expect more from the team that has one of the absolute best players in the league right now. Things have been looking up in April, ...

2019 All-NBA Underrated Team

Another season of the NBA has come and gone, and another season has seen many players not get the recognition they deserve. And just like last year, I'm going to give my picks for who I think are the most underrated players at each position. The rules of this are simple No all-stars from this season No players who made an All-NBA team (All-Defensive and All-Rookie are still eligible) So with that out of the way, this is my 2019 All-NBA Underrated team. Point Guard: Mike Conley I've already talked about how Mike Conley was underrated two years ago, and the case is still the same. After missing the majority of the previous season following multiple injuries, Conley was able to bounce back in a big way and posted the best stat line of his career. For the season, Conley averaged a career-high 21.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44% from the field and 36% from three-point range. The Memphis Grizzlies still had a disappointin...

Top 10 Players of the Week (11/18-11/24)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Andre Drummond While they aren't having a great season so far, the start of the year has to be seen as a positive for the Detroit Pistons. After posting a sub-.500 record this past year, the Pistons have been able to put up a 9-7 record, giving them the fifth-best record in the Eastern Conference. This past week, the Pistons were able to go 2-1 behind the strong play of their frontcourt. The first member of that frontcourt I'll talk about is Andre Drummond, who is having the best season of his career right now, and this week was no different. For the week, Drummond averaged 22 points, 15.7 rebounds, a steal and 3 blocks per game while shooting 55% from the field. Drummond's best performance of the week c...

13 Players I Thought Would Improve This Year (And How They Actually Did)

Before the season started, I made two lists of players that I thought would break out this season. In hindsight, I should have called it "players who would improve big time this year" because I wouldn't say anyone I picked had a truly "breakout" season. Still, I wanted to go back and see just how much the players I said would improve actually did improve (or how much they didn't). Let's get right into this, these are the 13 players I thought would improve and how they did this past season. Deyonta Davis What I Said: "Davis is very young and has a lot of potential. It would be a good idea for the Grizzlies to capitalize on it this season." What Actually Happened: For starters, Davis did receive a much larger role in his sophomore season as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, doubling his minutes per game and playing in 62 games (26 more than he did as a rookie) with six starts. With that additional playing time, Davis saw jumps in...

6 MORE Players Who Could Break Out This Year

Recently, I took a look at 7 players that I thought could have breakout years in the 2017-18 season, which you can read by clicking here . However, there are more than 7 players who I think can shine this season. So with that being said, here are 6 more players who I think could have break out years in the 2017-18 season. Jusuf Nurkić In the last post, I took a look Nerlens Noel & Willie Cauley-Stein, two players who were in bad spots, but after a change saw improvement, with Noel getting traded to another team and Cauley-Stein getting moved to the starting line-up after the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Another player like them is Jusuf Nurkić. Starting the season on the Denver Nuggets, Nurkić found himself playing back-up to Nikola Jokić. Coming off the bench, played around 18 minutes a game and averaged 8 points & 5.8 rebounds per game on 51% shooting. However, he then found himself traded to the Portland Trail Blazers for Mason Plumlee, and that was all he needed ...
