NBA Team of the Week (3/28/21-4/3/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry After dominating the second half of the 2010s, the basketball gods have not looked kindly on the Golden State Warriors over the last few seasons. After last season was decimated by injuries, they once again find themselves short-handed without Klay Thompson for the second year in a row. As a result, the Warriors are having a rough season, as they're currently 23-26 on the year and are clinging on to a spot in the play-in tournament. A 1-2 performance this week doesn't help their situation, but if Stephen Curry keeps playing the way he did this week, they ...

NBA Team of the Week (3/14/21-3/20/21)

( NOTE :  Before I begin, I just wanted to give my condolences to the family of Elgin Baylor. Rest in Peace to one of the greatest players in the history of the game) It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Damian Lillard After a brief hiccup where they lost four straight to end February, the Portland Trail Blazers are back on track, as they've gone 7-2 in their last nine games. This includes this week's strong 3-1 outing, which has improved their record to 25-16 on the year, putting them at joint 5th in the West with the Nuggets. The return of CJ McCollum this week has obviously been huge for the team, but D...

NBA Team of the Week (3/7/21-3/13/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: De'Aaron Fox In a season where they're looking to finally make the playoffs for the first time since 2006, the Sacramento Kings have been struggling. After going on a nine-game losing streak at the end of February, the team has traded wins-and-loses and now sit at 15-23 on the season, the third-worst in the West right now. This week was more of the same, as the team went 1-1, but if there's anything positive to take away from the last seven days, it's the excellent play of De'Aaron Fox. Fresh off an all-star snub , Fox came out with a vengeance, averaging 31...

NBA Team of the Week (2/21/21-2/27/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry After their disaster of a 2019-20 season, the Golden State Warriors have been able to rebound nicely this year. They're not the absolute powerhouse they were for most of the 2010s, largely due to the departure of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson's injury, but they now find themselves with a 19-15 record, the 7th best in the West, after a perfect 3-0 record this week. Despite the struggles this season, the Warriors are holding a winning record, and it's largely thanks to Stephen Curry, especially this week. For the week, the two-time MVP averaged 30 point...

TRADE ALERT: Jimmy Butler Headed To Philidelphia

The long, heavily publicized falling out between Jimmy Butler and the Minnesota Timberwolves has finally come to a close. The Timberwolves have agreed to send their all-star Butler, along with young center Justin Patton, to the Philidelphia 76ers for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2020 second-round pick. Butler's tenure in Minnesota ends after just over one season, during which the Timberwolves made the playoffs for the first time in 13 years. However, growing contempt between Butler and the Timberwolves organization boiled over this offseason, with Butler demanding a trade away from the team. The Timberwolves have struggled early in the season with the unhappy all-star, going 4-9 and have lost five straight games. It was clear the team needed to make a change, with sources saying that coach Tom Thibodeau had decided that the team could not function with Butler on the roster anymore. While his well-publicized drama and actions may have hurt him in the e...

10 Best Players of the Week (2/4-2/10)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Zach LaVine Let's be honest; nobody expected anything out of the Chicago Bulls this season. Officially going into rebuild mode following the Jimmy Butler trade and the Dwyane Wade buyout, the Bulls find themselves with a young roster that has potential to be great in the future, but not right now, and their 19-36 record on the season right now shows that. But as I said, things are looking good for the Bulls in the future, as several players have shown promise this season. And one player who just started showing promise was Zach LaVine. After missing the first three months of the season while recovering from a torn ACL, LaVine returned in January and this past week proved why the Bulls would give up their best pl...

DeMar DeRozan The Toronto Raptors had a great December, going 11-3 on the month and moved up to the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference with a 25-10 record on the year. Leading the way for the Raptors was DeMar DeRozan, who had several huge games as he led the Raptors above the Cleveland Cavaliers in the standings. For the month, DeRozan averaged 25.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game wh...
