NBA Team of the Week (3/28/21-4/3/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry After dominating the second half of the 2010s, the basketball gods have not looked kindly on the Golden State Warriors over the last few seasons. After last season was decimated by injuries, they once again find themselves short-handed without Klay Thompson for the second year in a row. As a result, the Warriors are having a rough season, as they're currently 23-26 on the year and are clinging on to a spot in the play-in tournament. A 1-2 performance this week doesn't help their situation, but if Stephen Curry keeps playing the way he did this week, they ...

Point Guard: De'Aaron Fox As they're on the hunt for their first playoff appearance since 2006, the Sacramento Kings haven't had the best season. Coming into this past week at 17-25, they were well out of playoff contention. This week, however, the Kings were red hot, going a perfect 4-0 and improving their record to 21-25 on the year. While they're still out of the playoff hunt right now, sitting at 11th in the West and a game behind Warriors for the final spot in the play-in tournament. The Kings had two standout performers this week, and the first I'll be talking abo...

NBA Team of the Week (3/14/21-3/20/21)

( NOTE :  Before I begin, I just wanted to give my condolences to the family of Elgin Baylor. Rest in Peace to one of the greatest players in the history of the game) It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Damian Lillard After a brief hiccup where they lost four straight to end February, the Portland Trail Blazers are back on track, as they've gone 7-2 in their last nine games. This includes this week's strong 3-1 outing, which has improved their record to 25-16 on the year, putting them at joint 5th in the West with the Nuggets. The return of CJ McCollum this week has obviously been huge for the team, but D...

NBA Team of the Week (2/28/21-3/6/21)

Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Damian Lillard As All-Star weekend comes to a close as I write this, we've pretty much hit the halfway mark of the season. The playoff race is starting to come to a close, and right now, the Portland Trail Blazers are looking good. Currently sitting at 5th in the West with a 21-14 record, a perfect 3-0 outing certainly helped strengthen their position in the playoff hunt. There were multiple players responsible for the Blazers' success this week, and one of them was Damian Lillard. For the week, Portland's sole all-star averaged 29.7 points, 7.7 assists, and 1.7 ste...

NBA Team of the Week (2/21/21-2/27/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry After their disaster of a 2019-20 season, the Golden State Warriors have been able to rebound nicely this year. They're not the absolute powerhouse they were for most of the 2010s, largely due to the departure of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson's injury, but they now find themselves with a 19-15 record, the 7th best in the West, after a perfect 3-0 record this week. Despite the struggles this season, the Warriors are holding a winning record, and it's largely thanks to Stephen Curry, especially this week. For the week, the two-time MVP averaged 30 point...

NBA Team of the Week (2/14/21-2/20/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it. If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Damian Lillard With the Western Conference remaining the stacked conference in the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers might be getting lost in the shuffle a bit. However, they are having far from a bad season, as they're currently 18-11 on the year. Despite the extended absence of their second-best player in CJ McCollum, the Blazers remain a strong team in the West, going 3-1 this past week. And surprisingly, Damian Lillard has been the reason the Blazers have remained strong. For the week, Lillard averaged 35.8 points, 5 rebounds, 12.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while s...

NBA Team of the Week (1/24/21-1/30/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it. If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Damian Lillard Before the season started, I expressed my doubts about the Portland Trail Blazers even making the playoffs this year. While they haven't been as bad as I thought they were going to be, they haven't been spectacular by any means. Currently 10-8 on the season, the Blazers went .500 on the week with two wins and two losses. They're not playing well enough to avoid the play-in tournament, but they're are staying afloat so far, and a big reason they've been doing that is Damian Lillard. As usual, Lillard has been among the league's best point guards this season, and this week, he was the best of the bunch. For the week, Lillard averaged 34.8 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists per game while shooting 51% f...
