To say that the NBA is dominated by super teams is about as controversial as saying that the sun is hot. It's well established at this point that in order to even compete for the NBA Championship, you're going to need at least two all-star caliber players on your roster. Sometimes they are created through the draft, such as the 2000's San Antonio Spurs and (up until 2016) the 2010's Golden State Warriors, and sometimes they are built through trades and free agency, like the Miami Heat's Big 3 or the 2008 Champions in the Boston Celtics. However, not every super team works out, and some crash and burn almost as quickly as they were formed. If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Karl-Anthony Towns As the season continues to wind down, the playoff race in the Western Conference continues to heat up. With five teams out of contention and only two playoff berths clinched so far, six spots remain open for six teams to take. One of the teams fighting for one of those spots is the Minnesota Timberwolves, whose recent struggles have put their playoff spot in jeopardy. With a 4-6 record in March so far, a 2-2 this past week puts them in the 7th seed in the West with a 42-32 record, just a game and a half ahead of the 9th place Denver Nuggets. Kevin Durant The Golden State Warriors are already at the top of the Western Conference with the best record in the entire league, and they just expanded the gap between them and the 2nd seed Houston Rockets this past week. Following the perfect 3-0 week, the Warriors find themselves with a 40-10 record, four games ahead of the Rockets. Leading the way for the Warriors were two players, the first of which is Kevin Durant. For the week, Durant averaged 20.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 9 assists, 1.7 steals, and 2 blocks per game while shooting 45% from the field and 47% from three-point range. Tyreke Evans Even though the Memphis Grizzlies' season has been an utter trainwreck so far (11-25 on the year, the worst record in the West and the second-worst record in the league), this season has seen a huge bounce back for Tyreke Evans.
