NBA Team of the Week (5/2/21-5/8/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry We're on the home stretch of the year, as there are just six days left of the NBA season when this goes up. With only seven teams having locked down a playoff spot and only six being eliminated from contention, over half the teams in the league are still competing for their spot in the postseason. One of those teams is the Golden State Warriors, who have fought through plenty of injuries and hardships to stay in the playoff hunt. Currently, 35-33 on the season after a 3-1 week, the Warriors currently sit at 8th in the West, four games out of the official play...

NBA Team of the Week (4/18/21-4/24/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Luka Dončić While they're in playoff contention right now, the Dallas Mavericks have been a bit disappointing this year. Having an early MVP front runner and one of the better centers in the league, I said before the season started that the Mavericks look like they have a bright future ahead of them. However, we haven't seen that bright future just yet. They're currently 6th in the West right now and hold a playoff spot, but you'd expect more from the team that has one of the absolute best players in the league right now. Things have been looking up in April, ...

NBA Team of the Week (4/11/21-4/17/21)

It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Click here to check out last week's if you missed it . If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Stephen Curry Starting off this week we have someone who has been absolutely on fire over the last few weeks in Stephen Curry. As I've mentioned the last few weeks, the Golden State Warriors have had a rough go of things this year. However, the last few weeks have seen them pick up steam, as they've gone 5-2 over their last seven games and currently sit at 28-29 on the year, putting them at 9th in the West. A big reason for their recent success has been Curry, who takes the point guard spot for the third straight week after a phenomenal recent stretch. In a week where...

NBA Team of the Week (11/10-11/16)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, it's time for me to give my picks for the Team of the Week. Click here to read last week's edition . If you want to go back and take a look at all the previous Team of the Week posts from the current season, then click here . So with that out of the way, this is the NBA Team of the Week. Point Guard: James Harden The Rockets have had a strong start to the season already, but this week they turned it up to 11 and went a perfect 4-0, improving their record to 10-3, the 2nd best in the Western Conference and only half a game behind 1st. Leading the way for the Rockets was James Harden, who's lackluster shooting hasn't been enough to slow him down, especially this week. For the week, Harden averaged 44.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 46% from the field and 40% from three-point range. Harden recorded over 45 points in two of the four games this week, the best of which was a 4...

10 Best Players of the Week (2/18-2/24)

( NOTE: If you're wondering where guys like Anthony Davis & James Harden are, they only played one game this past week, and I only include people who played at least two games during the week, so they weren't eligible for the list. The same goes for players like LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar DeRozan, and Giannis Antetokounmpo. With that out of the way, I hope you enjoy this week's edition of the 10 Best Players of the Week!) With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Devin Booker Unless you've been living under a rock since October, you'd know that things have been going about as bad as possible for the Phoenix Suns. Currently holding an 18-43 record on the season, the Suns find themselves at the bottom of both the Western Conference and ...

10 Best Players of the Week (1/28-2/3)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here. If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Bradley Beal Fresh off his first career all-star selection and the loss of John Wall to a knee injury, Bradley Beal was set out to prove that he could be a leader for the Washington Wizards. And he succeeded...for this week, at least. Under Beal's leadership, this past week saw the Wizards go a perfect 3-0, helping them boost their record to 30-22 on the season, just half a game behind the 3rd seed Cleveland Cavaliers. Needless to say, Beal had a strong showing as the top guy in Washington for the week. For the week, Beal averaged 22 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and a block a game while shooting 46% from the field and 33% from three-point range. Nikola Jokic Unlike Beal, however, one player...

7 Players Who Should Make the All-Star Reserves (Eastern Conference)

Yesterday, the NBA announced the starters for the 2018 All-Star Game and named leading vote-getters LeBron James & Stephen Curry as the team captains. With 10 all-star spots in the books, that leaves 14 spots left, 7 for each conference. Today, I'm going to give my thoughts on who I think should be the reserves. Starting with the Eastern Conference, here are 7 players I think should make the all-star game. Andre Drummond His team might be having the strongest season so far (the Detroit Pistons are 22-21 on the year), but Andre Drummond has been having a fantastic season. Drummond has been putting up some of the best numbers of his career, is having his best season since his all-star selection in 2016, and has shown a huge improvement in his free throw shooting. For the season so far, Drummond averages 14.5 points, a league & career-high 15 rebounds, a career-high 3.8 assists per game, a career-high 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 54% from the fiel...

10 Best Players of the Week (12/31-1/6)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. DeMarcus Cousins The New Orleans Pelicans are still an average team, and every single week that statement is reinforced. Following a 1-1 week, the Pelicans are at 19-19 record on the year, about as average as you can get right now. Still, the Pelicans have two sure-fire all-stars this season who, despite their team's lackluster performance this season, have been excelling. The first of those players is DeMarcus Cousins, who even on a slightly off week still put up some of the best numbers of the week. For the week, Cousins averaged 21 points, 13 rebounds, a steal and 2 blocks per game while shooting 59% from the field, 44% from three-point range, and 92% from the free throw line.  John Wall As the top three ...
