2018 NBA All-Underrated Team

Every season, a bunch of players go overlooked despite putting up some great numbers. It's bound to happen. Not everyone can be an all-star every season. However, they do deserve recognition, and since I made this list last year , I'm doing it again this year. With that out of the way, this is my 2018 NBA All-Underrated team. Point Guard: Tyreke Evans Yes, Tyreke Evans is a point guard. If you disagree, then you're not alone, because multiple NBA teams have played him out of position. Despite the fact that he had a stellar rookie season for the 2009-10 season where he won the Rookie of the Year and averaged 20.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game as a point guard with the Sacramento Kings, the team still moved him to the shooting guard spot. That, combined with a couple of injuries, hurt Evans' development and stock, which resulted in a pretty significant regression on the stat line. This might be why the Grizzlies got him for just $3.2 million for on...

9 Players You Probably Didn't Know Played Last Season

Over 500 different players played in at least one game this past season, so you'd be forgiven for not knowing all of them. The players on this list, however, are all fairly well-known names in basketball who might have flown under the radar because of a lack of playing time, so much so that you might have forgotten they were still active in the NBA. Excluded from this list are players who I've already written on this blog, so don't expect to see Luol Deng, Joakim Noah , or Brandon Jennings here. And with that out of the way, here are 9 players you probably didn't know played last season. Kendrick Perkins While the success of the Boston Celtics in the late-2000s is obviously almost entirely thanks to the quartet of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rajon Rondo, to say that having Kendrick Perkins didn't provide anything beneficial is unfair. Drafted with the 27th pick in the 2003 draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, Perkins quickly found himself on the Ce...

7 Players Who Basically Committed Robbery This Season

Image made by @TJBiddle Let's be honest, some NBA players make a lot more money than they have any business making. Granted, most NBA players make absurd amounts of money, but few would argue that players like LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Meanwhile, there are players that, while good, probably aren't worth the near 20 million dollars they make every year. Here's a completely unrelated picture of Allen Crabbe. The players on this list, however, are players whose performances this past season weren't even remotely worth the massive salary they pulled in. Whether they be players who put up lackluster numbers or players who just didn't play a lot, their lack of production despite an eight-figure salary was so bad it bordered on theft. The only rule for this list is that players who missed a large number of games during the season due to injuries will be excluded (aside from one player whose situation was a little different), so don't expect to see guys ...

10 Most Underrated Rookies From the 2017-18 Season

If this season is anything to go by, the NBA's future looks bright. Whether it be Ben Simmons, Donovan Mitchell, or Jayson Tatum, several rookies had strong showings this year, with ten of them being selected to the two yearly All-Rookie Teams. However, not every rookie made those teams (obviously) but they still deserve some recognition, which is what I'm going to do now. With the only exceptions being a player has to have played in at least 41 games during the season and that players on either the All-Rookie 1st and 2nd teams aren't eligible, these are the 10 most underrated rookies from the 2017-18 season. Jordan Bell Starting off this list we have the 38th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Jordan Bell. Originally drafted in the second round by the Chicago Bulls, the former Oregon Duck was traded on draft night to the Golden State Warriors for $3.5 million and hopes were high following a strong showing during the summer league. I myself predicted he would be an underra...

With another month of the NBA season on the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, let's take a look at the best 15 players from the month of March. If you want to read last month's list, click here . If you want to read all my Players of the Week lists from the previous month, then you can click on the links below. (2/25-3/3) (3/4-3/10) (3/11-3/17) (3/18-3/24) (3/25-3/31) But if you're all caught up, let's get right into this. These are the 15 best players of the month for March 2018. Blake Griffin While the Detroit Pistons season ended in disappointment, as they'll be missing the playoffs for the second season in a row, but they do have something to look forward to. Andre Drummond had arguably the best season of his career and dominated on the glass all season long, Luke Kennard showed promise from beyond the arc, and a defensive trio of Drummond, Stanley Johnson, and Eric Moreland nearly landed them in the top ten for team defense. All of those p...
