15 Best Players of the Month (March 2018)

With another month of the NBA season on the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, let's take a look at the best 15 players from the month of March. If you want to read last month's list, click here . If you want to read all my Players of the Week lists from the previous month, then you can click on the links below. (2/25-3/3) (3/4-3/10) (3/11-3/17) (3/18-3/24) (3/25-3/31) But if you're all caught up, let's get right into this. These are the 15 best players of the month for March 2018. Blake Griffin While the Detroit Pistons season ended in disappointment, as they'll be missing the playoffs for the second season in a row, but they do have something to look forward to. Andre Drummond had arguably the best season of his career and dominated on the glass all season long, Luke Kennard showed promise from beyond the arc, and a defensive trio of Drummond, Stanley Johnson, and Eric Moreland nearly landed them in the top ten for team defense. All of those p...

10 Best Players of the Week (4/1-4/7)

With the final full week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. MarShon Brooks With just two games remaining this season, it's safe to say the Memphis Grizzlies have given up. Out of playoff contention with a 22-58 record on the year, the Grizzlies really have no reason to try anymore, as they're basically just determining what draft pick they get. That lack of reason to try is probably why MarShon Brooks is getting so many minutes. Having not played since 2014 before this season, Brooks found himself back in the NBA after four years, and he's been making the most of the minutes he's gotten, as he actually put some pretty good numbers in the two games he played this week. For the week, Brooks averaged 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals and a bloc...

10 Best Players of the Week (3/18-3/24)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Karl-Anthony Towns As the season continues to wind down, the playoff race in the Western Conference continues to heat up. With five teams out of contention and only two playoff berths clinched so far, six spots remain open for six teams to take. One of the teams fighting for one of those spots is the Minnesota Timberwolves, whose recent struggles have put their playoff spot in jeopardy. With a 4-6 record in March so far, a 2-2 this past week puts them in the 7th seed in the West with a 42-32 record, just a game and a half ahead of the 9th place Denver Nuggets. While the team has struggled lately, if Karl-Anthony Towns keeps playing the way he did this past week, they should be fine. For the week, Towns averaged 22....

10 Best Players of the Week (1/14-1/20)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Chris Paul James Harden did not have a good week this week. He shot below 40% from the field and averaged less than 20 points per game this week, which is the first time that has happened this season. However, the Houston Rockets still have a great player who was able to lead them to a to a 2-1 record on the week, and that player is Chris Paul for the week. For the week, Paul averaged 23.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 2 steals per game while shooting 49% from the field and 45% from three-point range. Paul's best performance of the week came in a win over the Golden State Warriors where he put up 33 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals. Kevin Durant Even with the Rockets on their tails in ...

7 Players Who Should Make the All-Reserves (Western Conference)

Yesterday, the NBA announced the starters for the 2018 All-Star Game and named leading vote-getters LeBron James & Stephen Curry as the team captains. With 10 all-star spots in the books, that leaves 14 spots left, 7 for each conference. Today, I'm going to give my thoughts on who I think should be the reserves. I've already done the Eastern Conference , so here are 7 players I think should make the all-star game from the Western Conference. Russell Westbrook Let's start with the obvious one. And when I say obvious, I mean blatantly obvious. The reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook has continued to put up fantastic numbers for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who currently sit at a 25-20 record on the year. Even with the additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, Westbrook is still averaging a near triple-double on the year and has consistently been one of the best players in the league. For the season, Westbrook is averaging 24.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, a league-high 9.9...

10 Best Players of the Week (11/26-12/2)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Joel Embiid Starting off the list we have Joel Embiid, who has continued his strong sophomore season as he led the Philadelphia 76ers to two wins on the week. For the week, Embiid averaged 26.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 40% from the field and recording a double-double in all three games he played. Andre Drummond Despite a mediocre past seven days, the Detroit Pistons have maintained their surprisingly good season and still find themselves as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Leading the way for the Pistons is Andre Drummond, who has continued to be the best rebounder in the league along with great all-around play. For the week, Drummond averaged 16.8 points, 14...

10 Best Players of the Week (10/17-10/21)

With the first week (well, five days) of the NBA season in the books, I thought I'd take a look at the 10 players who excelled to start off the year. With that in mind, here are the 10 best players from the last week. James Harden The Chris Paul-era might not have gotten off the best start for them, but the Houston Rockets are still putting up wins as they've won all three of their first games. Despite losing Chris Paul in the first game to injury and losing key players like Lou Williams and Patrick Beverly in the trade that got them Paul, James Harden has continued to lead the Rockets and maintain their status as one of the best teams in the Western Conference. For the week, Harden averaged 27.7 points, 4 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 44% from the field and 39% from three-point range. The Harden-led Rockets are already a great team, and once CP3 comes back and (hopefully) adjusts to the team, the Houston Rockets could be scary.
