4 NBA Super Teams That Failed Miserably

To say that the NBA is dominated by super teams is about as controversial as saying that the sun is hot. It's well established at this point that in order to even compete for the NBA Championship, you're going to need at least two all-star caliber players on your roster. Sometimes they are created through the draft, such as the 2000's San Antonio Spurs and (up until 2016) the 2010's Golden State Warriors, and sometimes they are built through trades and free agency, like the Miami Heat's Big 3 or the 2008 Champions in the Boston Celtics. However, not every super team works out, and some crash and burn almost as quickly as they were formed. Whether they struggled to mesh together or a superstar or two just couldn't get along, these are four NBA super teams that failed miserably. 2017-18 Oklahoma City Thunder Starting off we have the most recent example of an NBA superteam that failed hard in the Oklahoma City Thunder from this past season. Two years prior t...

8 Traded Draft Picks That Came Back to Haunt Teams

There aren't many things that a team can do that are riskier than trading draft picks. While doing so can help a team win at the moment, the possibility of missing out on a future star by sending the pick, even if it's a second round pick, to another team can harm the future success of the team. The moments on this list are exactly that. Now, this list only counts for picks traded before the actual draft, so the Charlotte Hornets trading Kobe Bryant won't be on this list. With that out of the way, these are 8 traded draft picks that came back to haunt teams. Phoenix Suns Traded Away Ron Artest (1999) The Phoenix Suns looked to be on the cusp of a championship run following the 1997-98 season. With a core of Rex Chapman, Antonio McDyess, and Jason Kidd, the team went an impressive 56-26, but a disappointing first-round exit in the playoffs made it clear they needed another piece to complete the puzzle. During an extended offseason thanks to a lockout, the Suns took a...

11 Players Who Should've Played on One Team Their Whole Career

Close your eyes and try to picture this; Tim Duncan, one of the greatest players in basketball history. He's down in the paint, backing down a defender...while wearing a Phoenix Suns jersey. You can't do it, can you? What about an Atlanta Hawks jersey? Not that one either, right? How about anything other than a San Antonio Spurs jersey? It's impossible, isn't it? Some players have become so synonymous with certain teams that it's impossible to imagine them playing for anyone else. Just imagining Kobe Bryant or Magic Johnson not playing for the Lakers is practically out of the question, and guys like Stephen Curry have made it hard to see them any other team. Of course, for guys like Curry, playing for one team their entire career isn't the case. Sometimes they get traded away, sometimes they sign with another team, sometimes they come out of retirement, but whatever way it happens, they are moves that ended career-long runs with one team. With that being said...

6 Best Christmas Performers in NBA History

Christmas is one of the best days of the year for an NBA fan. Not only are there games on national television, but we get to see some of the league's best players and teams (and for some reason, the Lakers.) With Christmas right around the corner, I thought I'd take a look at some of the best players who made Christmas their day. With that in mind, here are the 6 best Christmas performers in NBA history. Oscar Robertson Few were as good as Oscar Robertson was during the 60s in the NBA. The 1963-64 season's MVP was the first player to ever average a triple-double for a while season and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1980. On Christmas, Robertson had no trouble playing like the Hall of Famer he was. In his nine Christmas Day games, Robertson averaged 30 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field and 93% from the free throw line. Robertson had three separate occasions where he scored 38 points on Christmas Day an...

7 MORE NBA Draft Day Mistakes

Recently, I took a look at 8 of the biggest mistakes ever made on draft day, which you can read by clicking here . Needless to say, there are more than just 8 draft day mistakes that have been made in the history of the NBA. With that being said, here are 7 more draft day mistakes. Trading Scottie Pippen for Olden Polynice (1987) Let's start this off with the first of two trades on this list. In the 1987 NBA Draft, the Seatle SuperSonics used the #5 overall pick to select Scottie Pippen out of Central Arkansas. However, they then decided to trade Pippen to the Chicago Bulls for the #8 overall pick Olden Polynice. That would end up being a big mistake. Polynice's career wasn't terrible, but it wasn't worth trading away their pick for him. Polynice had career averages of 7.8 points & 6.7 rebounds per game while shooting 50%. He spent the majority of his career bouncing around the NBA, playing on five different teams during his fifteen-year career. While not...
