  It's Monday, you know what that means! It's time to take a look back at the past week and see who the best players were around the league. Selections are based mostly on the player's stats, but (minus the rookie of the week) their team's record during the week is also taken into consideration. Point Guard: Stephen Curry Starting off this week we have someone who has been absolutely on fire over the last few weeks in Stephen Curry. As I've mentioned the last few weeks, the Golden State Warriors have had a rough go of things this year. However, the last few weeks have seen them pick up steam, as they've gone 5-2 over their last seven games and currently sit at 28-29 on the year, putting them at 9th in the West. Point Guard: Damian Lillard With the Western Conference remaining the stacked conference in the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers might be getting lost in the shuffle a bit. However, they are having far from a bad season, as they're currently 18-11 on the year. Despite the extended absence of their second-best player in CJ McCollum, the Blazers remain a strong team in the West, going 3-1 this past week. If not, let's get into this. Point Guard: Luka  Dončić The Dallas Mavericks have been disappointing this year. After playing .500 basketball to start the season, the Mavericks fell off hard at the end of January and into February, losing six straight and dropping 8-13. This past week was a better look for the team, as they went 2-2, but they still find themselves in a hole at 10-14, the second-worst record in the West. Thankfully, Luka  Dončić didn't go into a slump like the team did as a whole, as he has remained one of the best point guards in the league. This week was no different, as he averaged 30.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 43% from the field and 43% from three-point range.  Dončić would cap off the week by matching a car...

While they haven't been as bad as I thought they were going to be, they haven't been spectacular by any means. Currently 10-8 on the season, the Blazers went .500 on the week with two wins and two losses. They're not playing well enough to avoid the play-in tournament, but they're are staying afloat so far, and a big reason they've been doing that is Damian Lillard. They're still at the bottom of the West with a 2-3 record on the year and have some glaring issues that need to be fixed (I'm looking at you, Kelly Oubre Jr. and your 4% three-point shooting), but things are looking a lot better than they did a week ago. After last season's abrupt suspension and eventual end in October, the NBA is back and the 2020-21 season is underway. Now that the first week (or five days) of the season is in the books, it's time to look back at the top performers at each position this week. Now, like last year, I'm taking a player's team's record into consideration, but the most important thing is still their stats. Also, I will be adding a 6th man (or any bench player) and rookie of the week to this series. So, let's get into this. Despite finishing low in the standings for the past three seasons, the additions the Hawks made this offseason have given them a good shot at making the playoffs in my opinion.
