Dwyane Wade Signs With the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a had a strong showing this offseason, and it just keeps getting better. In addition to adding the likes of Isaiah Thomas, Derrick Rose, and Jae Crowder to the team, Dwyane Wade has officially joined the Cavaliers on a one-year, $2.3 million deal. Wade had agreed to a buyout of his contract with the Chicago Bulls only three days prior and now joins a Cavaliers team coming off a season where they made their third straight NBA finals appearance. The signing also reunites Wade with LeBron James, who together with Wade led the Miami Heat to two NBA Championships victories and four straight finals appearances along with Chris Bosh But most importantly, the Cleveland Cavaliers now have 2/3s...of the Banana Boat.
Truly, the Cavs are now a force to be reckoned with.
Wade is coming off a single season with the Bulls where he averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals while shooting 43% from the field. As a Bull, Wade acted as the second scoring option behind Jimmy Butler and helped lead Chicago to a 41-41 record, earning them the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Boston Celtics in six games. During the playoffs, Wade's stats took a dip in some areas while rising in others, averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, .8 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting only 37% from the field. After the Bulls traded Butler with to the Minnesota Timberwolves, it was clear that they had entered rebuild mode and decided to part ways with the 35-year old Wade. Wade is likely no longer a player who can average 25+ points per game and can lead a team to the NBA Finals on his own, but he still a more than reliable second option who could fit in perfectly with the Cavaliers roster.
Part of the reason Wade joining the Cavs could be a perfect fit is the fact that it reunites him with his former Big 3 teammate LeBron James. During their four-year stint as teammates, the duo averaged 49.1 points, 12.9 rebounds, 11.4 assists, and 3.2 steals. The two were one of the strongest duos of the modern NBA, and along with Chris Bosh were two-time NBA Champions in 2012 & 2013. Now in Cleveland, the two will have Kevin Love instead of Bosh, along with having a the likes of Isaiah Thomas on the team. The Cavs were already probably the strongest team in the Eastern Conference right now, and the addition of Wade just made them that much stronger

The Best Undrafted NBA Player From Each Year Since 2000

Most of us have probably felt the disappointment of not being picked for a sports team in high school. Now imagine that, only the selection process is on national television, all your friends & family are with you waiting for a call that's never coming, and you have to watch as everyone else in the pool is picked over you, and that's probably how it feels to go undrafted. Every year, hundreds of college athletes declare for the draft with the hopes of going pro in their sport of choice. However, with a limited number of draft selections available, not all of them will make the cut and find themselves on a team by the end of the draft. The NBA is no stranger to this, as with only 60 picks in each draft, plenty of prospects go undrafted each year. That's not to say that someone's NBA dreams are dead if they don't get picked, as plenty of undrafted players from various draft classes end up making it to the NBA, with some even having lengthy, successful careers for ...

SHOCKING! Trail Blazers' Zach Collins Has No Racist Tweets From Past

UPDATE: Scratch that. He actually does In wake of the recent scandals involving Major League Baseball players and offensive tweets from their pasts, the basketball world was shocked to discover that Zach Collins of the Portland Trail Blazers did not have any racists posts on his Twitter account from before he was a professional basketball player. As first discovered by Twitter user Xavier Pousey, better known by his Twitter handle @KingCollison4, the former Gonzaga player's Twitter account contained a surprising lack of offensive tweets from his high school days. "He was really just wishing all his friends happy birthday, it wasn't what I was expecting at all," said Pousey when reached for comments by the Basketball Section. "He tweeted about School of Rock not being on Netflix once...that's all I've got." Pousey, a Panda Express employee by day and a Nick Collison fan account administrator by night, initially looked into Collins' Twitter ...
