8 People Who Got Banned From the NBA

It takes a lot to get banned from a professional sports league. Some of the more famous examples come from sports like baseball, with players like Pete Rose and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson being banned for gambling on games and for involvement in the Black Sox scandal, respectively. However, since this is a basketball blog (it even says so in the name), I'm going to be looking at eight people who have been banned from the NBA over the years. Some got reinstated, some were never welcomed back in the league, but at one point, all of these people were dismissed from the NBA. Exempt from this list is disgraced referee Tim Donaghy because apparently, despite betting on games, he is not actually banned from the NBA, though I doubt he'll be welcomed back with open arms anytime soon. But with that out of the way, here are 8 people who got banned from the NBA. OJ Mayo Starting with the most recent player to be banned from the NBA, a lot of hype surrounded OJ Mayo as he made

10 Best Players of the Week (10/22-10/28)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here . If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week. Stephen Curry Despite a shaky start to the season where they went 1-2, the Golden State Warriors are back on track after winning all three games last week, led by two of their best players. The first of which was Stephen Curry. For the week, Curry averaged 26.3 points, 7 assists, and 3 steals per game while shooting 43% from the field and going a perfect 24 for 24 from the free throw line. Unsurprisingly, the Warriors look set to be one of the best teams in the league, if not the best. Aaron Gordon Likes his teammate Nikola Vucevic last week, Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic is the standout among the top players of the week. The Magic continued their hot start to the season last week, winning both of their game

10 Best Players of the Week (10/17-10/21)

With the first week (well, five days) of the NBA season in the books, I thought I'd take a look at the 10 players who excelled to start off the year. With that in mind, here are the 10 best players from the last week. James Harden The Chris Paul-era might not have gotten off the best start for them, but the Houston Rockets are still putting up wins as they've won all three of their first games. Despite losing Chris Paul in the first game to injury and losing key players like Lou Williams and Patrick Beverly in the trade that got them Paul, James Harden has continued to lead the Rockets and maintain their status as one of the best teams in the Western Conference. For the week, Harden averaged 27.7 points, 4 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 1.7 steals while shooting 44% from the field and 39% from three-point range. The Harden-led Rockets are already a great team, and once CP3 comes back and (hopefully) adjusts to the team, the Houston Rockets could be scary. LaMarcus Aldridge

14 Players Excluded From NBA 2K18's All-Time Rosters

One of the coolest things about NBA 2K18 (in my opinion) is the new All-Time Rosters, which puts the best players from each teams' history all on one team. Want Kobe & Shaq paired up with Kareem & Magic? You've got it. Wanna see how a duo of Carmelo Anthony & Patrick Ewing would do. You've got it. Wanna see Charles Barkley join Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, and Amar'e Stoudemire on the Suns? Well, too bad, because despite them being considered "all-time rosters" there are still players missing from those teams. Whether it be because contract issues or players being bumped for others, these 14 players' absences are very noticeable. Now, NBA 2K18 has been out for about a month now, and the all-time roster have been known for even longer, so I'm super late to this, but I thought I'd still give who I thought were the biggest omissions from the game. So let's get right into this, these are 14 players excluded from NBA 2K18's all-time

7 NBA Players With Unfortunate Records

*All statistics used in this post are from BasketballReference.com When people talk about records in the NBA, they tend to focus on the most glamorous ones. Wilt Chamberlain and his single-game point record, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and his career total points record, and Ray Allen career three-pointer record all get brought up and are key parts of those three players legendary careers. However, not every record is one people want to remember, and ones that the players who hold them don't want to think about. Here are 7 NBA players who have unfortunate records Karl Malone Record: Most Career Turnovers Starting off the list we have a two-time MVP and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Karl Malone. Over his 19-year career, Malone solidified himself as one of the greatest power forwards in the history of basketball. For his career, Malone averaged 25 points and 10.1 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field. With stats like that, it's no surprise Malone was select

10 Best Performances of the Night (10/2/17)

Welcome back to the Top Performances of the Night. Here are the top 10 performers from last night's NBA preseason games. Jodie Meeks Starting off the list we have Jodie Meeks. During the Washington Wizards' victory over the Chinese Basketball Association's Guangzhou Long-Lions, Meeks came off the bench but made the most of his 16 minutes of game time. Meeks put up a team-high 19 points on 7/9 (78%) shooting and 4/5 (80%) from three-point range, while also grabbing 2 steals along the way. Jeremy Lamb Like Meeks, Jeremy Lamb came off the bench during the Charlotte Hornets' loss to the Boston Celtics and also led his team in scoring. Lamb put up 17 points on 6/10 shooting and 2/4 three-point shooting, while also adding 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal to his resume. Jarell Martin Remember when I called Jarell Martin trash on my list of players who could break out ? I was wrong...at least, for this game I was. Coming off the bench for the Memphis Grizzli

Top Performances of the Night (10/1/17)

Welcome back to the Top Performances of the Night. Here are the top three performers from last night's NBA preseason games. John Collins Kicking off the list we have John Collins, the Atlanta Hawks' rookie forward out of Wake Forest. Collins, despite struggling with his shot, was able to come through in a big way on the rebounding end during Atlanta's loss to the Miami Heat last night. Collins grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, 10 of which were on the defensive end, and added 9 points on 2/6 (33%) shooting. Louis Williams Up next is Louis Williams, who came off the bench during the Los Angeles Clippers' loss to the Toronto Raptors last night, but was able to put up solid scoring numbers along the way. Williams recorded 17 points on 4/9 (44%) shooting and went 9/12 (75%) from the free throw line. Additionally, Williams grabbed four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Kyle Lowry Rounding out the list is Kyle Lowry, who was a key factor in the Toronto
