10 Best Players of the Week (11/5-11/11)

With another week of the NBA season in the books, in the pocket, and out of sight, it's time to take a look at the best players of the last week. If you missed last week's, click here. If not, let's get into it, these are the 10 best players of the week.

Harrison Barnes

The Dallas Mavericks have about as bad of a start to the season as the possibly could, currently sitting at a 2-11 record and are tied with the Atlanta Hawks for the worst record in the NBA right now. However, one person who was a slight bright spot for the team was Harrison Barnes, who had a strong performance this week. For the week, Barnes averaged 27 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 54% from the field and 57% from three-point range. If only played for a team that wasn't hot garbage.

Kevin Durant

As the Golden State Warriors continue to be one of the best teams in the NBA (surprising no one), Kevin Durant took the lead this week and helped the Warriors win both of their games this week. For the week, Durant averaged 25 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting 52% from the field, 33% from three-point range, and a perfect 7/7 from the free throw line.

Andre Drummond

The Detroit Pistons have been one of the biggest surprises of the season, currently sitting at a 10-3 record. Many players on the team had strong showings this week (such as Tobias Harris and Reggie Jackson), but Andre Drummond stood out above the rest, especially with his rebounding. For the week, Drummond averaged 15 points, 20.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 54% from the field. He also shot free throws...let's not talk about that.

Anthony Davis

The New Orleans Pelicans aren't exactly lighting the world on fire right now (they currently sit at a 7-6 record) but two of their players have been absolutely superb. The first of which is Anthony Davis, who continues be a top 10 player in the league right now. For the week, Davis averaged 26.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 2 blocks per game while shooting 62% from the field and 56% from three-point range.

LeBron James

The Cavaliers have continued to struggle this season, but LeBron James has continued to play as well as he always does. For the week, James averaged 27 points, 7 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and a block a game while shooting 55% from the field. Despite the Cavs' bad start to the season, LeBron continues to thrive.

Nikola Jokic

The Denver Nuggets have lowkey been one of the best teams in the Western Conference this year, currently standing at an 8-5 record and are currently tied for the second-best record in the West. This past week, the Nuggets went a perfect 3-0, with the big man Nikola Jokic leading the way. For the week, Jokic averaged 22.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and a block per game while shooting 53% from the field and 40% from three-point range. Jokic week was highlighted by a 41 point, 12 rebound performance against the Brooklyn Nets.

Kristaps Porzingis

Continuing to lead the New York Knicks to a surprisingly good season, Kristaps Porzingis has stepped into the leadership role perfectly and is having one of the best seasons out of anyone in the league. For the week, during which the Knicks went a perfect 3-0, Porzingis averaged 34 points, 6 rebounds, and a huge 3.7 blocks per game while shooting 60% from the field, 56% from three-point range, and 91% from the free throw line.

DeMarcus Cousins

Going back to the Pelicans, another player who has been fantastic this season is DeMarcus Cousins, who has been playing even better than Davis has this season. For the week, Cousins averaged 29 points, 14.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 47% from the field and 36% from three-point range. If the Pelicans can put it all together and get a good backcourt on their roster, the Pelicans could be a strong team in the Western Conference.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Continuing his MVP-caliber season, Giannis Antetokounmpo had another great week as he led the Milwaukee Bucks to a 2-1 record on the week. For the week, Antetokounmpo averaged 33.7 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 63% from the field. If he keeps up this kind of play all year, the Greek Freak could be looking at his first MVP award.

James Harden

Rounding out the list is my pick for the player of the week is James Harden. Harden has continued to lead the Houston Rockets as one of the best teams in Western Conference and this past week, he really kicked it up to 11. For the week, Harden averaged 43 points, 5.7 rebounds, 11.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game while shooting 54% from the field and 53% from three-point range. His stats this week were highlighted by two huge games, one where he put up 56 points and 13 against the Utah Jazz and another where he put up a triple-double against the Cleveland Cavaliers, recording 35 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists.

The Best Undrafted NBA Player From Each Year Since 2000

Most of us have probably felt the disappointment of not being picked for a sports team in high school. Now imagine that, only the selection process is on national television, all your friends & family are with you waiting for a call that's never coming, and you have to watch as everyone else in the pool is picked over you, and that's probably how it feels to go undrafted. Every year, hundreds of college athletes declare for the draft with the hopes of going pro in their sport of choice. However, with a limited number of draft selections available, not all of them will make the cut and find themselves on a team by the end of the draft. The NBA is no stranger to this, as with only 60 picks in each draft, plenty of prospects go undrafted each year. That's not to say that someone's NBA dreams are dead if they don't get picked, as plenty of undrafted players from various draft classes end up making it to the NBA, with some even having lengthy, successful careers for ...

SHOCKING! Trail Blazers' Zach Collins Has No Racist Tweets From Past

UPDATE: Scratch that. He actually does In wake of the recent scandals involving Major League Baseball players and offensive tweets from their pasts, the basketball world was shocked to discover that Zach Collins of the Portland Trail Blazers did not have any racists posts on his Twitter account from before he was a professional basketball player. As first discovered by Twitter user Xavier Pousey, better known by his Twitter handle @KingCollison4, the former Gonzaga player's Twitter account contained a surprising lack of offensive tweets from his high school days. "He was really just wishing all his friends happy birthday, it wasn't what I was expecting at all," said Pousey when reached for comments by the Basketball Section. "He tweeted about School of Rock not being on Netflix once...that's all I've got." Pousey, a Panda Express employee by day and a Nick Collison fan account administrator by night, initially looked into Collins' Twitter ...
